Spinal Decompression Therapy is a drug-free, non-surgical, FDA-cleared treatment that helps reduce or eliminate pain related to herniated, degenerated, and bulging discs in the lower back and neck.

The patient is either held around the waist or under the head with straps attached to the table, and the straps are pulled and released with specific tension and timing, creating space between the vertebra, allowing discs to be pulled back into the space they once occupied, taking pressure off surrounding tissues and nerves and decreasing pain, and calming the body.

Dr. Andrea Ellis, DC, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northern Arizona University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, focusing on management. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness. Dr. Ellis graduated Cum Laude from Parker University with her Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2007.

Dr. Ellis is an active member of the local, state, and national chiropractic community. She is a member of the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), Texas Chiropractic Association, and the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA)

While working as an intern in the Parker University public clinic, Dr. Ellis reached out to many Chiropractors in the Dallas area and Phoenix, San Diego, Denver, even Amsterdam and Paris to research different practices and adjusting styles. In the process of doing so, she was able to secure an internship position with Koala Chiropractic here in Dallas that turned into a job after graduation. It was here she dove head-in into sports chiropractic and soft tissue injuries almost a year before she even graduated.

After a small break to have her first child, Dr. Ellis worked full-time at busy chiropractic practice in the Dallas area. It was here she honed her adjusting skills, adjusting thousands of patients, as well as re-connecting with a chiropractic school friend, Dr. Frank Cox. Wanting a more personal and hands-on practice, they eventually left and created Meadows Chiropractic at the end of 2009.

Dr. Ellis married another classmate, Dr. Billy Kuykendall DC, whom she met in Gross Anatomy lab. He was a lab aide and helped her wash out a cadaver’s heart. Dr.s’ Ellis and Kuykendall live in Dallas, TX, and have three kids, Hudson, Molly, and Mason.

Dr. Ellis’ passion for service doesn’t end with her patients. She has been involved with dog rescue and fostering (her rescue career ended with her adopting 3 dogs) and Dallas CASA, but is also currently involved in Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and YMCA youth sports.
